- : Amen to that! I tried many ways to get my Zip to run on my A4008 with no luck.
- : I eventually got a HC+8 card and now run it almost 100% successfully on that.

- Huh? Can you give a few more details as to what went wrong? I'm
- running a Zip drive on a GVP 4008 (in a 4000/040) with no problems.
-
- The only thing I didn't like was the fastest I've gotten it to go is
- 600 kB/s (raw transfer rate from sysinfo). I'm planning on moving it
- over to my 4091 tonight to see if it's any faster there (since other
- people have gotten the Zip to go up to 1 MB/s). But so far, it does
- work.
-
- I have seen one *slight* problem so far -- twice I got a requester
- that said "Unexpected status" and some number (which I didn't write
- down). However, neither time did this "error" affect the data I was
- writting (I checked) -- and it hasn't happened for several hours of
- continuous operation since then.

- P.S. If you partition your Zip drive with 8 blocks per track, 1 head,
- and 24576 cylinders, and allocate only 1 cylinder for the RDB, you'll
- only waste 8 sectors (4 kB) on your entire Zip disk (for the RDB)! The
- HDToolBox default wastes almost 80 kB! If anyone's interested, I'll
- upload a "HBTool" image of the RDB (you can then use HBTool to write it
- to your drive) and a mountlist.
